CHELSEA MAKE DECISION ON PLAYER AMID STOKE CITY TRIAL

Posted on October 31, 2022  in Stoke

Chelsea have decided to bring Prince Adegoke back to Stamford Bridge, having originally allowed the player to join Stoke on a trial basis. The Potters have brought the youngster in to keep a close eye on him and to see if it was worth pursuing a more permanent arrangement for the goalkeeper. However, the Blues have now taken the decision out of their hands for the time being, with All Nigeria Soccer reporting that the player has returned to his parent club.

He’s yet to obviously play any football at all with Chelsea, which is understandable considering his age, experience and the options available to the Blues. It’s meant he has had to make do with playing for their reserve teams and also for Welling United outside of the football pyramid. (more…)

WHAT’S FORMER SUNDERLAND AND STOKE MAN KENWYNE JONES UP TO THESE DAYS?

Posted on October 20, 2022  in Stoke

Kenwyne Jones played for Sunderland, Stoke City, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City throughout his career. Jones, now aged 37, began his career in his home country of Trinidad and Tobago. He made a name for himself playing for a team called W Connection where he scored 30 times in 31 games. This ended up being the first glance of Jones’ prolific goal scoring ability and it earned him his big move to England. Jones joined Southampton back in 2004 where he would be sent out on loan twice to the Owls and then the Potters.

His time at the Saints would end in 2007 with Sunderland bringing him to the north east where he became a fan favourite. By this time, he had already made a name for himself on the international stage and expectations were high for the new striker. Jones would go onto make 94 appearances for Sunderland, scoring 26 times – form which would see him receive interest from several Premier League clubs. (more…)

WEST BROM ON ALERT AS CLUBS QUEUE TO SEAL TRANSFER ACCORDING TO REPORTS

Posted on September 17, 2022  in Stoke

West Brom are among a host of clubs on transfer alert to sign Brighton defender Matt Clarke this summer, according to the Stoke Sentinel. The online outlet has reported on its website that clubs are alerted to the defender’s availability, with a loan or even a permanent move now on the cards. Stoke are the other named side in the race for the Seagulls enforcer, who spent the 2021-22 season on loan at The Hawthorns in a disappointing campaign.

Steve Bruce has already refused to rule out another move for Clarke, though, as he clearly impressed during his time at the club, despite being signed by Valerien Ismael. The Stoke Sentinel has cast doubt over that though after the Baggies kicked off their Championship season with a back four in the 1-1 draw against Middles brough. They report that the Albion are currently well stocked in that area with Dara O’Shea, Semi Ajayi and Kyle Bartley, although that could all change. (more…)

Posted on May 20, 2022  in Stoke

Stoke City and several other English teams are in the race to sign MK Dons midfielder Scott Twine this summer. This is according to the report from the stables of TEAMtalk which revealed that Stoke City will have to fend off the interest of many teams in their bid to sign Twine from MK Dons when this summer’s transfer window opens.
